On Thursday, more than 2000 illegal Israeli colonizers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem while they celebrate the fifth day of Passover.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Centre (Silwanic) reported that a total of 2258 Israeli settlers invaded the Islamic Holy site in two groups, 1651 in the morning and 607 in the afternoon.
The same sources added that occupation forces provided protection for the illegal colonizers who entered through the Mughrabi Gate, while performing Talmudic rituals and touring the eastern area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
A member of the religious zionist party, Zvi Sukkot was among the settlers to invade the Muslim holy site, while thousands more toured the Jaffa Gate area and the streets of the Old City to visit the Buraq wall (Wailing Wall).
Major roads were closed and iron barriers closed off many areas, while a large number of Israeli police were stationed in the area.
The WAFA News Agency reported that Israeli police imposed severe restrictions, denying many Muslim worshipers entry, while inspecting and confiscating others’ ID cards at the gates, maintaining strict control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The same source added that colonizers stormed the Bab al-Rahma Cemetery and performed Talmudic rituals there, violating its sanctity.
The Bab al-Rahma Cemetery contains the graves of a number of the companions of the Prophet Mohammad, Islamic scholars and leaders, and martyrs of the Islamic conquests.
The cemetery extends from Bab al-Asbat to the end of the eastern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, reaching the Umayyad palaces area south of the mosque.
